Newcastle United have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Lille centre-back Sven Botman, according to a report.
The Magpies are understood to be in the summer market in order to strengthen the club even further ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League outfit are hoping to sign the Netherlands international at the end of the season, with the club willing to spend up to £42 million for the centre-back.

Eddie Howe’s side actually attempted to sign the 22-year-old defender during the latter stages of January, but a move did not materialise.
