Signing a world class striker could be a priority for United boss Louis van Gaal as he bids to re-shape his squad for the Champions League next season.
Although, it is expected the Dutchman is ready to spend heavily this summer to push for the Premier League title next term.
The report suggests that the Red Devils are plotting a move for the Frenchman, who scored 22 goals in all competitions this season.
Meanwhile Arsenal could give a tough competition for Benzema’s signature, who signed a five-year contract with the Los Blancos last summer and the Spanish giants are unlikely to let the 27-year-old leave the Bernabeu unless they can find an ideal replacement of their attack.
Radamel Falcao, who spent a very disappointing loan spell at Old Trafford, scoring only four goals this term, has already been sent back to AS Monaco and Robin van Persie‘s future looks uncertain due to his injury, Benzema is the sort of player with his brilliant skills would make him an excellent addition to Van Gaal’s side.
He has scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists in La Liga this season. Do you think the Premier League giants will spend on a striker this summer?
