Tottenham sack manager Tim Sherwood

Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has been sacked after just five months in charge at White Hart Lane.

Sherwood, who replaced Andre Villas-Boas and signed an 18-month contract in December, eventually has failed to reach into the the end of next season.

The 45-year-old won 13 out of 22 games in the Premier League with winning percentage of 59%, the highest of any Spurs boss in history, where Spurs finished sixth.

Tottenham’s Chairman Daniel Levy told club’s official website: “We appointed Tim mid-season as someone who knew both the players and the Club.

“We agreed an 18-month contract with a break clause at the end of the season and we have now exercised that option.

“Moving forward, now the season is over, we shall embark on the process of finding a new Head Coach. We have a talented squad and exciting young players coming through. We need to build on this season, develop our potential and inspire the kind of performances that we associate with our great Club.”

Levy is now looking for full-time manager, with Ajax boss Frank de Boar and Southampton’s Maurico Pochettino have been linked with the White Hart Lane job this summer.
