Tottenham Hotspur considering summer move for Daniel Sturridge?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge as a back-up option for Harry Kane.

It is understood that Spurs are struggling with their attack in the absence of Harry Kane, and are relying on Fernando Llorente, who is set to leave at the end of this season.

Sturridge is due to become a free agent at the end of the current season as the Merseyside giants have not offered him a contract extension, and The Mirror suggests that he may be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur.

The north Londoners will give the Englishman a chance to re-establish himself in the Premier League, though the 29-year-old attacker is believed to also have offers from overseas, including MLS outfit New York City FC.

The report adds that Sturridge will be offered a two-year deal by Spurs and will replace Llorente in the squad, with the Spaniard is set to depart this summer.

Sturridge has scored twice from 14 appearances in the top flight this season.
