Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as rumoured suitors for Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
The North London outfit have identified the 28-year-old goalkeeper as an ideal backup for first-choice Hugo Lloris, according to The Mirror.
Spurs could be hunting a new second-choice stopper this summer, with Michel Vorm is close to the end of his contract and several clubs are said to be ready to make him an offer.
McCarthy has one year left on his Saints contract, ousted Fraser Forster as the club’s main goalkeeper last season and played a key role in the Premier League survival.
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Liverpool and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the Englishman.
