Southampton are planning a summer approach for Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha as they aim to find a suitable replacement for Alex McCarthy.
Strakosha, 26, has registered three clean sheets in eight Serie A outings this term, as for the majority of the season the stopper has been second-choice to Pepe Reina.
According to Sport Witness, Lazio rejected a £50m offer from Liverpool for the Albania international, however the Italian outfit has suggested that Strakosha will now be allowed to leave Stadio Olimpico for a far inferior transfer fee.
The South-Coast outfit may view the Albanian as a potential target with his prime years ahead of him.
Strakosha only has a year left to run on his Lazio contract.
