The west London outfit have “accelerated” their interest after receiving some reports from their scouts about the Portsmouth starlet.
Chelsea and West Ham could be forced to act soon though because one Dutch club is also credited with an interest in Maloney.
Chelsea are currently serving a two-window transfer ban handed out by Fifa. They have only been able to sign Christian Pulisic and Mateo Kovacic to their squad.
