Manchester United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye in this summer’s transfer window.
United midfielder Ander Herrera confirmed on Saturday that he would be leaving the club on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, while Paul Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from the Red Devils.
The 20-time English champions also did not replace Marouane Fellaini in January, meaning that the club are expected to sign at least one midfielder ahead of the new season.
Everton’s Idrissa Gueye was strongly linked with a move away to Paris Saint-Germain during January, but according to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are also considering a £40m bid for the Senegal international.
The report goes on to claim, United have ‘made their intentions clear’ when it comes to the 29-year-old midfielder, who racked up 32 Premier League appearances this term.
