While the 16-year-old defender is yet to make his first-team appearance for the Black Cats, the teenager is already a regular with the Under-18s, making 13 outings.
However, Pye’s regular appearances have inevitably led to interest from Premier League giants, including Arsenal, who are eager to get a deal for the prospect over the line.
The Sun claims that the Gunners face strong competition from the Red Devils, who have identified the English left-back as a potential summer signing.
The report goes on to claim that the Old Trafford outfit are willing to hand Pye a five-year contract.
If the deal goes through, the starlet would likely spend time in the club’s youth academy.
