Manchester City have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen as a potential replacement for Claudio Bravo, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after the Premier League champions confirmed that the 35-year-old Chilean suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during training on Monday.
The severity of the shot-stopper injury will be analysed by further tests in Barcelona on Thursday, but the Sky Blues are already considering options for cover for Ederson during the second half of the season, when the transfer window opens in January.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, City boss Pep Guardiola ramped up his interest in Cillessen as one of those options, with the Dutchman thought to be unhappy at Camp Nou.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper, who is behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the pecking order, is thought to be open to the idea of leaving the Catalan giants, but Manchester City must now wait until January to recruit any new players.
