Liverpool have reportedly outlined their intentions to move for Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar in January transfer window, according to Telefoot.
The Reds have opted to join their domestic rivals Manchester City in the race for the 20-year-old’s signature.
The Frenchman has established himself as one of Lyon’s key players, scoring five goals and four assists from 20 appearances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League this term.
The Merseyside giants have closed the gap on champions Manchester City, they remain outsiders for this season’s top-flight crown.
Aouar still has more than four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, but that doesn’t stop the Premier League giants from making big-money offers in the coming month.
Chelsea and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest on the highly-rated midfielder who is in his second full season in the Lyon first-team.
