Liverpool are on the verge of completing a £7.25m deal for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Takumi Minamino.
The Reds have been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old versatile attacker, who impressed in the two recent Champions League matches against the Anfield club, since 2013.
Talks between the two sides have already accelerated in the last month and the Premier League leaders are now in a position where they believe a deal will be completed at the beginning of 2020.
A number of European clubs, including Manchester United, have been tracking Minamino, but the Reds enjoy a healthy relationship with the Austrian champions.
The Japan international perfectly fits the bill at Jurgen Klopp’s side, because he is the player the German boss has been searching for over the past 18 months.
Minamino has been sensational for Salzburg this term, contributing nine goals and 11 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.
