Inter Milan are hopeful that their bid to sign Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window will be successful.
The 31-year-old forward has spent the last season on loan at San Siro, contributing four goals and 10 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Nerazzurri recently confirmed that they wanted to sign the Chile international on a permanent basis, although his wages – thought to be in excess of £500,000-a-week.
The Chilean has just two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford and as it stands, he will return to Old Trafford next month.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, the Italian giants are confident of completing a permanent deal with negotiations between the two parties are ‘already at an advanced stage’.
Sanchez has scored just five goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
