Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has won the UEFA’s Best Player in Europe Award defeating Germany’s Manuel Neuer and Dutchman Arjen Robben, who both enjoyed a successful season with the German champions Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old Portuguese superstar, who had a stellar season – scoring a record 17 goals to help Los Blancos win the Champions League last season and also sealed a Copa del Rey triumph.

“I’m really happy so I must say thanks to my team-mates because without the team, individual awards would not be possible,” Ronaldo said. ”I don’t have this trophy in my museum, so my brother is going to put it there.”
Ronaldo, who had a disappointing World Cup campaign in Brazil – has been named best player in Europe for the second time – the first one in 2008, when playing for Manchester United.
