The Premier League leaders Chelsea have reportedly planning a summer move for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, according to the Evening Standard.
Striker is believed to be a priority for manager Jose Mourinho in summer transfer window as the Blues prepare to lose the legendary Didier Drogba, who may not sign a contract extension and could step into more of a coaching role.
The report claims that Chelsea sent scouts to watch the Argentine international on Sunday.
However, the west London club could face a stiff competition from the regaining Premier League champions Manchester City and the strugglers Liverpool, who are both keen to make a move for the 21-year-old forward.
Icardi’s current contract is valid until 2018 and has scored 13 goals in 22 Serie A appearances this season.
