Barcelona are ready to pounce for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl by making a £21m bid next summer.
The Catalan giants have placed emphasis on strengthening their midfield options next summer, with Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal both expected to leave Camp Nou.
Weigl, 24, has become an indispensable member of the Dortmund side since 2015, starting 10 Bundesliga appearances this term.
According to Sport, Barca are willing to meet Weigl’s valuation of £21 million ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
The Germany international is viewed as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets, who is set to turn 32 at the end of the current campaign.
The La Liga champions have also reportedly identified Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali as a potential long-term replacement for the Spaniard.
