Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head over the signature of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to French media website France Football, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino sees Rabiot as the ideal replacement for Moussa Dembele.
The same story states, Gunners haven’t made a formal approach for Rabiot despite Unai Emery being interested in a deal to sign the Frenchman this summer.
However, the report goes on to claim that speculation linking the 23-year-old midfielder with a move to north London could be a simple ploy to get the player improved terms at the France capital.
Rabiot scored once and provided six assists in 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last campaign to help the Parisians win the French top-flight crown.
The Gunners have been busy in the summer transfer market since Unai Emery took over the reins back in May. They have signed Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen and Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund so far in the summer transfer window.
