The 29-year-old Staley had four years left on his current contract, which he signed back in 2009, averaged $7.2 million per season. His extension will add two more years onto that which is the latest move by the team in a busy offseason.
Staley was selected by the 49ers in 2007 NFL Draft. He became an All-Pro in three consecutive years – 2011, 2012 and 2013, as well as being selected in Pro Bowls (2012, 2013 and 2014).
The new NFL season will kick off in September.
