The Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy was delighted with his opening round as he earned a share of the lead at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on Thursday.
The world number one made a blistering start, who managed a six-under 66 to share the lead with Shane Lowry.
The 25-year-old was satisfied with his performance and express his feelings on Twitter:
Just under 3 hours until I hit my first competitive golf shot in 6 weeks. To say I’m excited is an understatement. #imready

McIlroy hasn’t played competitively since at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in the first week of October as he prepares for a court case against his former management company.
Meanwhile Richie Ramsay and Thorbjorn Olesen share second place on six-under.
