Australian head coach Darren Lehmann has been rewarded with a contract extension until 30 June 2017, Cricket Australia announced on Friday.

The 44-year-old former Test batsman, whose current contract as a coach had been due to expire in mid-2016, but Cricket Australia has extended his contract for another year following his successful 5-0 Ashes campaign and a recent series triumph in South Africa.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have had in the job and am proud of what we have achieved so far,” Lehmann said in a statement.
In Lehmann’s 13 Tests as a head coach, has won seven, Lost 4 and draw two times.

Australia will play two-Test match series against Pakistan in Dubai, starting on 22 October.
