Tottenham Hotspur are keen on reinforcing their defence by targeting Middlesbrough’s teenage sensation, Rav van den Berg. The 19-year-old Dutch defender has caught the eye of Spurs’ scouts with his outstanding performances in the Championship.
Van den Berg, who joined Middlesbrough from PEC Zwolle, has been a consistent rock at the back, making 39 appearances and solidifying his reputation as a promising talent.
Despite having a contract with Middlesbrough until 2027, the level of interest in Van den Berg might make it difficult for Boro to retain him, especially if a significant offer comes in. Tottenham, who have already bolstered their defence with Micky Van de Ven and Radu Dragusin in recent windows, are looking to add more depth and build a young, dynamic backline.
Van den Berg is able to play both as a centre-back and a right-back, that makes him an attractive option for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
The North London club have a history of scouting talent from the Championship, evidenced by previous signings like Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers and Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.
